As many of you may already know, the rules of voting have been changed and become even more restricted than before. I am going to explain this below-- though I know we have hurt the feelings of many of you, like u101 san. For that, I wish you knew how sorry I am, and have been, ever since what happened two days ago. Please accept my most sincere apology on behalf of the organizers.
We had an ideal. An ideal that we'll make this event the most lively yuri-fan gathering, the event without complicated rules so that everyone from all over the world can attend. We thought by whichever means people express their love, their love is never wrong. We wished that everyone would respect other people's votes, and take them equally.
That's why we didn't set the boundary. We didn't do it even when Kirika and Konoha's match was forfeited because of false votes. What most regretful was, our innocent wishes were smashed into pieces, again and again, by some people who would not obey the rules and stop voting multiple votes.
That is why we set up the new rules to restrict a certain group of people (and I know that most of you do not belong) from tarnishing our love for the favorite shoujoai/yuri characters.
As previously been translated by a few yamibo members, the most important changes of rules are:
1. If you registered after 2006.1.1 (as most international people are), you have to reach 30 posts AND 50 score to be eligible to vote.
2. When you vote, not only do you have to vote the previous way, you also have to reply the voting thread by naming the person you are voting for.
The rational is that one person will not be able to make all his/her non-main ids eligible for voting. Note that if one person has 3 minor ids, normally he/she would have to reply 90-150 posts that are not recognized as meaningless water (i.e. Spam posts), and also not to be detected by mods' ip checking.
You may despise us for eating our words. If you do, please despise me only. I apologize again for failing to come up with a better plan. The executive organizer hasn't had a good rest for a while, and since the match 2 days ago, many mods have devoted their excessive leisure time, even sleeping time to discuss the ways to guarantee the fairness of the game, track the false votes and try figuring out the best way to do this. Since the 7th match of the 3rd round, the mods also have to manually check all ~800 votes to validate the results. That's quite some work without pay nor without enough appreciation.
Of course these rules will give you all a lot more trouble to vote. However, we believe if you love your characters enough, you wouldn't mind declaring your love here. Also, your vote WILL mean more, and we are definitely not aiming at new people. What you basically have to do is just to post more, and I'd suggest a few ways to do it in post #2.
